Spotting - normal??

Yesterday I had light pink discharge and brushed it off since it wasn’t anything major. This morning it’s gotten a tad heavier, and there was a tiny blood clot- is this normal? Currently 5 wks pregnant.

Is it a clot? Or just an accumulation of old blood? Can you spread it apart / is it stringy or an actual clot?
I’ve spotted a lot during this pregnancy and we saw a heartbeat today. That bleeding could be from your cervix, it could be an SCH or a pocket of blood somewhere near the sac. You might want to get an early scan just so you know: if you have an SCH, you need to be on bed rest. 
I know it’s scary but just know that I’ve spotted every day since my bfp which was 2 weeks ago and all is fine 😘
