Do y’all limit

The foods you give your March baby? My son is a vacuum cleaner. He eats anything and everything. My mom was over today and I was snacking on those tuna package things. My son was eyeing my food so I gave him a bite. He tried it, liked it, went to play and came back for more. My mom told me not to give him things such as tuna because of the salt intake and that he shouldn’t be eating that. I am like I don’t know. This child eats everything and I don’t ever say no to something.

We don’t limit anything. Not at this stage. If they want to eat it I’m going to let him eat it. Shit the other day he was on a food strike and would only drink milk and eat Pringle’s. So yes, he ate an entire can of pringles. No shame in my mom game here

You should always be cognizant or processed, sugar, etc. Just like you want to eat a balanced diet, you should want that for your kiddo. My daughter doesn’t get sweets or juice. We are cognizant of her salt intake, as well as artificial dyes. Her snacks are mostly fruits, proteins, and whole grains.

I think its important to eat healthier in general (not only for kids), therefore it is important to limit some foods accordingly and your mom is right with the salt intake. To much salt for kids can cause elevated high pressure which is not good and can cause heart problems later in life. Its the same with too much sugar. For my kids I let then try a lot but of course I set rules because otherwise they would eat only chocolate and cookies all day long 😂.

We try to give him healthy stuff as much as possible. Sometimes I will give him fries or sweets (cake, cookies). Those things I limit for sure because he always want more. I also try to never give him sweets (except for fruits or yogourt) at dinner. He usually eat what we eat unless he can’t (like sushi).

No I don't really limit anything. I mean I might limit the amount of something at a particular moment. Obviously he's not allowed to have all the cookies he wants. But he is allowed to have cookies, he's allowed to have salty food, he is allowed to have all kinds of food. I feel he eats fairly balanced diet for a toddler. There's vegetables and such he likes. I've never really thought about limiting his salt intake. Maybe I should.

We aim for well-rounded but i don’t limit him. If he’s hungry, he’s going to eat. I have to be careful bc of egg and dairy allergies, but he eats a wide array of things.

We have meal times (that are flexible based on how hungry he seems to be) outside of those times the kitchen is closed. Sometimes we will be in the garden and we will give him something. We don’t limit food intake during meals but we also don’t encourage grazing outside of the meals.

We try offer her healthier stuff, but like last night, we had fast food for dinner. She ate a bunch of fries with cheese sauce, half a of hamburger patty, and a little bit of bun. But because we are at home I was able to pop some frozen broccoli in the microwave really quick and she ate a little bit of that too. She doesn't get fast food all the time so I'm fine with her eating whatever she wanted last night. 
There are also plenty of days that I offer her a few animal cookie with lunch or dinner. I offer them with her meal so she doesn't think of sweets as a reward. 
We've kind of followed words from Feeding Littles. In short, if she asks for more and we have more to give, we give it to her. If we only have what is on our plates we try to explain "we don't have anymore of "X" but you can have some more "Y" if you'd like."

We don’t limit how much she eats in general but we do limit how often we offer unhealthy foods. We rarely eat junk food or sweets so we just don’t have it at home, but she’s definitely allowed to have some if we happen to be eating it in front of her. I usually feed her healthy snacks first so she fills up on that, before giving her whatever I’m having. But I must admit if I feel like eating something unhealthy I hide sometimes so I can eat in peace lol but my daughter loves fruit, avocado, grains, yoghurt, milk and all that so she’s really happy with her healthy snacks. In terms of quantity we let her decide when she’s full

My kid usually eats a decent amount for her age and she will eat a lot of stuff that I won't. Including tuna and spicy foods. I don't give her what I'm eating if she just got done eating but that's just because I'm trying to teach her that just because she sees food doesn't mean it's hers. 😂 No, we don't limit that kind of stuff though. I don't think my parents or my husband's parents ever did and we're okay (good health and not overweight). 🤷‍♀️ She gets sugary stuff from time to time, stuff with salt, stuff with spices, etc.
