c-section or vaginal?

REMAKING THIS POST BECAUSE MY LAST POST SOME PEOPLE FELT THE NEED TO COMMENT RUDE THINGS LIKE “WOW THEY”LL JUST GIVE ANYONE A C-SECTION THESE DAYS”. so therefore, if you have nothing nice to say, please overlook my post and do not even bother leaving a comment. 
so, hey mamas! currently 40w4d here! my first baby, and i can not wait to meet her. i have tried so hard to keep going and let her come when she wants. i have been 2 cm for forever! i am not progressing at all. my water is “bulging”.. but has been for almost a week now and no change. 
my sweet girl is measuring bigger (9 pounds 6 ounces as of today). with that being said, i was told today that there is risk of her shoulder getting stuck and potentially breaking or being damaged. along with tearing significantly worse. so thus leaving me with two options; 
option 1 - scheduled c-section for wednesday 
option 2 - scheduled induction for thursday to attempt a vaginal delivery and result to plan b if not successful 
with this being said, i am 4 days overdue and still not progressing. no signs of labor or anything. i have tried it all! there is no guarantee that i will go in there and progress. i also don’t want to risk hurting my child or creating complications that could easily be avoided! plus.. i would really hate to go in there, start the induction process, have horrible contractions, and then possibly end up having to have a c-section anyways. 
i also have group b strep.. and with a c-section i would no longer have to worry about baby girl contracting it. 
a lot of my friends and family seem to believe a c-section would be my best and MOST IMPORTANTLY safest option! 
just wondering what you mamas would do in this situation? or any advice? 
obviously my doctor wouldn’t have offered a c-section if he felt it wasn’t an option that could be necessary or reduce the chance of there being complications. 
what do you mamas think?

I had a 9 lb 5 oz baby naturally no meds. 
Her shoulders came out just fine, no majoring tearing, and I recovered pretty well after. And while my pushing phase took a while (4 hours), she came out just fine at the end of it. Totally healthy. 
I personally wouldn't get a c-section, but idk your situation. Just saying you can give birth to a bigger baby and its not all awful. Look up Evidence Based Birth and big babies to help you properly decide. A lot of times doctors want to schedule creations for "big babies" to lower their own liability, not because its better for you

First of all I want to say this is 100% your choice. There is no right or wrong answer here. Whatever you decide you are  comfortable with go for it. I had a 9lb 9oz baby and went through 60 hours of painful labour and only ever made it to 4cm. By the time I had my c section I had been awake for 4 days and was exhausted. In some ways I wish I just had a c section so that I wasn’t so exhausted before hand. On the flip side I have a friend who isn’t very big who has vaginally birthed 3 babies in 3 years that were all 9 and 10 pounds. You don’t know how it’s going to go so just try to go with your gut! And ignore anyone who is being a dick about it. I’m sure you would love if you went in to labour naturally, dilated quickly and easily pushed out a baby but it’s not happening that way for you so bring your baby into the world however you have too!

If you know you can't birth the baby vaginally then why try and wear yourself out only to have to get a c-section anyway? 
My sister went into labor at 37ish weeks with her first and her pelvis wouldn't open wide enough and they let her tire herself out and push until they finally did a c-section and the doctor had to push her back up into the birth canal to get her out and my sister was awake long enough to see her when she was out but she was so physically wore out that she fell asleep. 
And that's what I'm worried about with my labor and delivery.  I prefer that if they have any. Indication that I can't push him out that they'll do a c-section and not try to force me to tire myself out doing something I can't do.

It’s such a hard place to be in... my first was 9lbs8oz and my second was 10lbs2oz. I was fortunate that my water spontaneously ruptured and began my labor at 38 weeks with baby 1 and I naturally went into labor with baby 2 at 40 weeks. There could be a chance you haven’t went into labor because baby is in an unfavorable position, in which case labor could be longer and in some cases can cause distress in baby. If I were you, I’m not sure what I would do. Big babies don’t scare me, my deliveries were AMAZING homebirths. BUT I think if you are really worried and feeling anxious, it may be more beneficial for you and baby to cesarean because so much stress so late in can’t be good for either of you. In the end, healthy baby and healthy mama are what matter most. I’ve seen lots of women on here who are induced or have a section at 38 weeks so I’m not sure why anyone was rude to you about that. It’s hard not to worry about our precious babies!!! Best wishes mama ❤️❤️

Ultrasounds are notoriously inaccurate at measuring babys weight. Their is no way to predict shoulder dystocia and the risks do not increase as you get further along so it worries me that your doc said that. 🤔 As for being GBS+ you'll get IV antibiotics so that isnt a factor that will affect baby. Also you're not over due until your 42 weeks. 
I would honestly be patient and not try to rush baby out prematurely since their is no medical indication to induce and that would be best for baby. 
But given the 2 options you're considering I would try for an induction and then get a c-section if need be. It would be a lot better for baby to experience some contactions and some labor at least to clear babys lungs and sinuses of amniotic fluid. The labor process in general is extremely beneficial for baby so I wouldn't deprive my kid of that for no reason.

I was 41 weeks was only 1 cm dilated for 3 weeks had no contractions, he told me baby was head down but not engaged and if they induced me most likely i wouldnt progress and will have to get a c section anyways, so I chose c section. And it sounds like that’s the better choice for you

I was six days late went into labor naturally and he was better for it. C-sections have a horrible painful recovery. I haven't had one but my sister and mom did. My mom had problems with her scar until I was a late teenager. Every woman's birth canal is different and our pain tolerance is different. Good luck on journey!

My son was 8 ilbs 4oz and he got stuck at his shoulders it was so scary his heart rate dropped and they had to use the vacuum but thank god he came out fine no breaks. I had a second degree tear and did hemorrhage though
