Help Me Quit!!
Ok, ladies. I need some help.
I’m 30, my husband is 35. We have been ttc since March of this year, and no dice. I have PCOS that has been fairly well controlled over the last few years (regular cycles while off bc, etc.), but I have a vice. I’m a (recent) smoker.
I’m a surgical vet tech at the best and busiest emergency clinic in the city, and since COVID, things have been almost unbearable in the vet community (look it up if you’re interested. The articles are starting to show the chaos). I am working at least 55hr/week, on my feet non-stop 14 hours a day, pee maybe twice a day if I’m lucky, and haven’t had a lunch break in literal months. I’m on call 25% of the time, I am the lead tech and always the go-to when things need to be done. I’m exhausted.
Truth be told, I started smoking strictly to have a reason to TAKE A BREAK. I figured 5 minutes of mental health was worth the occasional risk, but I forgot to take my own addictive personality into account. I thought I could be the boss of my smoking. I was wrong.
How do I quit?! Obviously smoking is about the worst thing I could do for myself and my baby chances, and I really do want to stop!! I need to know how others have done it. Surely I’m not the only one!
