Gift cards for Christmas?

So this year I’ll be having a baby around Christmas, and we’ll probably be pretty tight on money, which is why I’m thinking about Christmas gifts early. I have enough Speedy Rewards points to redeem 3 $25 gift cards. It sounds perfect, because the people I need to get gifts for are my mom, dad, and sister. I would probably get the amazon gift cards, because they love amazon, and of course, put them in a nice Christmas card. Then I fully intend to spend 5-10$ a piece to get a small gift to go with it, for each of them.

I guess I just want to know how you all would feel if you received something like that for Christmas? Would you be upset because it’s a gift card and not a hand picked item?
