Bassinet or Crib?

Hi there !! 
FTM so I've got some questions and appreciate any helpful answers / experience ❤️
We have a small space and intend to stay at this location until baby is needing her own room . As of now we have a large room that were going to turn the other half into nursery. Ideally I want to spend money on the "essentials" first rather then overdoing it until we have more space 🤓
Questions : 
• do I need to get a bassinet AND crib? Or just crib? 
• How long do babies stay in bassinet ? Or do some go right in the crib as a newborn? 
• Did any mom's sleep with baby in bed? Still concerned about this tbh but if anyone can recommend something safe to have her in bed for those times. 
• Anyone know of a good and SAFE 3-1 or 4-1 convertible crib (with changing table/drawers/conversion to toddler bed when time) .

Honestly something like this is perfect. Bassinet part can be used for when baby is little, and then when they outgrow it u take it off and can lay them on the mattress in the pack n play. We had a crib and bassinet with our first and I never used the crib and it was expensive. Wish I would have done this the first time around

I got this to go in my camper. I like that it has 3 levels. Ps changing pad sheets fit on the mattress.

We got a mini crib for our second. It’s a lot smaller than a regular crib. It will convert into a twin bed when she’s older.

A bassinet and crib aren’t a need. Our daughter had a crib in her own room so we used the bassinet in our room until she outgrew it which was within a few months. I feel like having the bassinet right up to the bed is easier, but I know people who skipped the bassinet and did other things and were just fine. If the crib is in your room I’m sure you’ll be fine if you want to go without the bassinet. Look up safe ways to cosleep if you’re interested in that. There’s lots of info out there. We didn’t when she was a newborn, but did from about 4 months to 11 months.
