What would you do?

I’m due in 2 weeks, give or take, our COVID numbers have been in the single digits for weeks in the town we live in (still are), but our province has had a huge spike meaning we are entering the second wave and numbers are continuing to go up significantly.
My dilemma: originally while in the hospital my mother was going to stay at our house to watch our dog, and she would be here when we returned to meet baby. With the chance of the spike continuing and making it to our town, I am second guessing myself, my husband IS allowed to leave the hospital. So should he just leave a couple times a day to let her out OR should my mom stay?
Any input helps 🥰

My baby was born in May, so just after the first peak in my state.  We still had my parents come take our dogs are my in laws take our son. If rather have the help and but be worrying about how the dogs are doing

Actually think it’s better for your mom to do it and not have your husband leave the hospital. That way you aren’t alone and he isn’t exposed outside of the hospital. Even though he was allowed to leave, my husband didn’t even leave our room when I had my son in July. We just didn’t think it was necessary. Someone else had our dog at their house. 
In terms of your mom being there after, if you are worried about that you could ask her to quarantine now if she doesn’t travel to work. Order groceries from Instacart or curbside pickup. Our parents quarantined for 2 weeks once our baby was born and then came and stayed for a week.

As long as your mom is Covid free then it shouldn’t be an issue! If you’re worried have her get a test and come early if possible so that after the test she’s not being exposed in between getting tested (hopefully negative) and coming to your home.

I’m due shortly too. We’re having my mom come over and take care of the dogs and house. She’s going to make us some freezer meals too. We’re not taking the chances that something may happen while I’m in labor or with baby that wouldn’t allow my husband to come back into the hospital after leaving.
