My last period was 14august and the doctor told me I would be just over 5weeks pregnant ? But I didn’t have sex then [im so new to all this]

They count from the first day of your last period.

Not when you had sex or when you ovulated.

They go by the first day of your last period. So technically the first two weeks of your pregnancy you weren’t actually pregnant but you still go by the 5 weeks.

If you know exactly when you conceived you can look up how to calculate you're due date but it will only be more accurate if you do not have a typical cycle length. My typical cycle length is 35 days (i believe "normal" is 21 days) but my doctor didn't beleive me until I showed him the data on my glow app from the last 12 months prior to conceiving. Now he is going off of my conception estimated due date instead of the start of my last period.
