We got to see the heartbeat rather than hear it?

Today I went in for my first scan. Baby measured exactly where they should be: 7+5 weeks. We got to see their heartbeat flickering on the screen, however midwife didn’t listen for it. Is there a reason for that? Should I be worried or is this normal for a first scan?

Our tech just had us watch it. She said its harder to hear when its that early. Most of the time we just see the heartbeat but once you are far along enough you can hear it on doppler. We heard ours on doppler at 18wks.

My ob doesnt listen to heartbeats on ultrasounds
At 8 weeks I got an ultrasound and she didn’t listen to it, just watched it. But she did check the heartbeat on a fetal doppler

I’ve only ever had them turn on the sound for the heartbeat in private scans. Otherwise they use a Doppler at appointments when you’re not having an ultrasound
