Is it tacky to announce your engagement or wedding after a sibling has told your family they’re getting divorced?

If I was getting a divorce and my brother was getting married I would be happy for him.  Why do people around me have to stop living because i’m getting a divorce!? If it was a death then I would tell you to wait a little.

Personally, I would wait a little longer to announce any happy news after hearing sad news from family. A few extra weeks isn't going to change anything for us.

i’d honestly never feel negatively about my sisters happiness. if she was getting married, and her partner was a good person, i’d be happy for her. 
but i’m sure under different circumstances, ie if you didn’t get along much with your sibling, or if they’re the type to try and constantly one up you, then i can understand why there would be some issues there.

It sucks they’re getting divorced but I would share the news anyway. Everything doesn’t revolve around them and no one wants to be in a negative mood all day either

I mean, I wouldn’t announce the day or week of a divorce announcement. I would wait a little bit.

Well I mean if it’s like the second after they said it, like “hey just so you know I’m getting a divorce” and you were like “that’s cool, guess what I got engaged!!!!” then yeah, wrong time. 
But otherwise no. It doesn’t matter if I were going through a breakup or divorce - as long as they treated my sibling well, I’d be so happy for my sibling and honestly happy to have some good news to focus on.
