Did you go to preschool as a child?

As an adult looking into memories how was your Preschool Kindergarten experience? 
I'm wondering if preschool is really that great or not? 
I had a bad experience I remembered elementary & kindergarten was terrible I had to hold in urine to the point I'd have accidents cause teacher couldn't take time take all kids I just remembered it was hard to adjust to school those milk cartons they were hard to open and meeting new people making new friends was frightening what was your experience in elementary? 
What tips advice do you have for kids starting preschool,  elementary to make it more positive?

I mean, it was over 25 years ago, so it’s a little hazy, but I remember loving it. PreK was awesome 😂 We did crafts and basically just had fun all the time (I’m sure there was some disguised education in there as well.) I remember kindergarten being a little more stressful—kids called me tornado because I was constantly blowing my nose due to seasonal allergies, lol.

I remember overall enjoying preschool and kindergarten. The memories are fuzzy little snapshots, but I remember some experiences, like playing dress up, using tricycles, learning songs, and painting. We learned all the states in alphabetical order in preschool in the form of a song. I remembered it for years lol. I remember arguing with a little boy about how to pronounce “yellow” (he was wrong). I remember getting to play some random video game in the nursery at preschool because I had to use a breathing machine for my athesma. I remember there was a nap time and we used sleeping bags.

I did but I don’t remember much of it. Preschool is mainly for the social aspect. It teaches kids to interact with their peers, how to share, take turns, follow simple directions, etc. As far as actual learning goes they can do that at home but the other social part is pretty important so I plan to enroll my daughter when the time comes. At that age, even half day programs are fine. Just ask around for recs on preschools in your area. Look at reviews and talk to other parents. Tour the school. Most kids don’t have a bad experience if the school is a good fit.

I went to preschool and I really don’t remember any of it. The biggest thing I remember was making a turkey for thanksgiving on a paper plate. I didn’t learn almost anything because I knew shapes, colors and numbers going into it, and they didn’t teach a whole lot more. 
Kindergarten I was homeschooled for, and I don’t remember that either because my mom let me work as much on it as I wanted as long as I passed the “tests” after each chapter and I finished it in 6 weeks.
If you’re wanting to send your kiddo to preschool for the educational “benefits”, I personally wouldn’t say its worth it. I would just get them on ABC Mouse or Reading Eggs and they’ll be more advanced by the end of the school year than most kids are by the end of kindergarten

Yes, I went to pre-k. Don’t really remember any of it. That was like 15/16 years ago. I remember we had nap time lol

It was almost 30 years ago so I don’t remember much. I remember playing on the playground, it felt so big and fun, and we took a tour of the post office my preschool shared a building with. And I remember holding some boy’s hand... he went on to date my sister in our late 20s.

I went to three different pre schools and left the last one early to visit my family in Germany 😂 I just remember chasing after some girl with a knife, not sure why the kitchen was open lol I was also really bored because my reading level and spelling was really advanced. I only went twice a week for a few hours tho.

I loved it. it's mostly to teach interacting with other kids and building friendships.  Learning some. We had snack time, nap time, show and tell, parties, we learned letters and numbers some. I don't remember everything but I do remember loving it. If it's a good school anyways. Not all schools offer the same thing and I can't tell you how it is today. 
I would probably sit in a class or two and see how it is first. I think it helped me to grow. Some kids don't do well with it though and it would be best to take the time and teach things yourself, you could help them to get as far advanced as you want before kindergarten.

I remember loving preschool and kindergarten! They were both so fun and we did so many activities. I only had 2 bad teachers in elementary school but even they didn’t cause me to wet my pants. 
My advise to parents sending kids off to preschool or kindergarten or anywhere really is to just ask for the things they need. The problem with most people is that they’re too scared to ask for the things they want/need. We need to teach our kids how to ask politely. Teachers don’t read minds so if a child doesn’t tell her/him what’s going on they don’t know.
