Halloween/Trick or Treating

Hello ladies

I am posting here wondering what you’re all doing with your kiddos and Halloween.

Now I’m going to preface this with 1) I am not set on trick or treating 2) I absolutely know covid exists and I am currently 21 weeks pregnant 3) I am not overly concerned of covid for myself because studies show majority who’ve been diagnosed have 2 or more major health conditions 4) all of the kiddos listed below all go to the same daycare so we are all exposed to each other anyway.

My son is 2.5 years old, I have a 3 year old adopted sister, a nephew who is 4, and another nephew who is about 1. My mom is talking about us all going trick or treating with the kiddos and having them wear masks. And ensuring social distancing is occurring.

I don’t know that I’m comfortable with this because of all the exposure that occurs for candy that we could just buy and a trivial experience that my son can go without for one year.

What are your thoughts? Please be respectful as I’m not trying to start an argument. Just genuinely curious of others’ thoughts.
