What kind of mittens do you use for your toddler?

I bought my daughter some really cute knit mittens that have deer faces on them but I’m wondering will those be warm enough for our Canadian winters? They are quite thick.  And she isn’t walking yet, although he is 15 months old so she will likely start this year.  Should I buy her some let’s say hot paws or Kombi. Like full on snow mittens or will the knit ones do fine?

I’m in Alaska. Got my babe some Columbia Chippewa long toddler mittens. She will be playing in the snow a little so wanted em to keep her dry. She’s 22 months. We won’t be going out for long periods of time once the cold sets in here.
