Too soon???

Baby is 2 weeks old & I really need to go grocery shopping.... Do you think it’s okay, is it too soon? With Covid and everything? Or just I just make hubby go? 😒
How old was your babe when you went out for the first time?

I had my daughter in January 2019 and we went to Target when she was a few days old. I kept her covered in her car seat or I wore her and kept her covered. But, with covid, I wouldn't risk it. My girl is 19 months old and she hasn't been inside a store since the beginning of March. I would either get groceries and the like delivered, curbside pickup or have hubby do it. Or you can go by yourself and have hubby stay with the baby

Baby pretty much has no immune system right now. I wouldn’t.

I personally would either have my husband go or instacart it. But that’s just me.

I didn’t take my son anywhere until he was 2 months old per my pediatrician’s recommendation, and even then, I was still cautious because of flu/RSV season; he was born in December. But then COVID happened within that same month I was able to take him so that was his only outing for a long time lol. 👎🏻 My two cents: If you CAN go without your baby, do grocery delivery/pickup, or have your husband go... then that’s a much nicer option than going with a 2 week old. I don’t even go with my 9.5 month old, not because I’m fearful of anything at this point, but because it’s infinitely easier without a baby. Also, pro tip: it’s a good way to take a break from baby duty, especially if you shop at places like Walmart/Target etc. I always go when my husband is done working because I browse candles, clothes, and makeup too. 😉

I mean if you want to get out of the house you can always wait until hubby comes home and have him watch the baby while you go grocery shopping. They also have car seat and stroller covers for the baby too. Or like everyone said you can always go pick up groceries. Just up to you and your preference

I try to do delivery, or if not, pickup. But my husband isn’t always home to do shopping and it’s me alone and frankly, delivery and pickup doesn’t always work great and I end with with awful produce and terrible substitutes. When we have to go, he’s covered in the car seat stroller or I wear him. I do my best to protect him and I’m meticulous about my hands and mask, but that’s our reality as a military family. When I do have to go, I try to get what I need so I not going frequently.

We took my son to the store a week after he was born because we couldn’t avoid it, but I wouldn’t do it this time around with the pandemic. I’d probably to pickup or delivery for groceries and such.
