Covid 19 testing and scheduled csection in new england

So I’m scheduled to have a csection on October 19th, I’ve not had to be tested for covid once through out all this covid pandemic stuff, I’ve taken all the right precautions because of my increased risk for catching it as I have type 1 diabetes and asthma and a little toddler at home. I just received a call today that my hospital has scheduled me for a covid test a few days before I go for my csection without even asking me. Is this normal? Do I have to get the test done?
