Okay SO back story I have been a stay at home mom the majority of my daughters life. At one point I worked at a daycare, which she occasionally attended with me. She had a bad experience there with one of the workers and would scream and cry every time she had to go to daycare with me. We ended up removing her from this daycare.

Fast forward to now.

I started a new job and so daycare was on the table again. I enrolled my daughter in my cousins daycare. It’s normally just her working but she does have some subs to cover when she needs to miss for her self or her son. She’s wonderful with children and she loves my daughter. She had a sub work for her on my daughters 3rd day at daycare. I didn’t know the girl but I got an off feeling when we picked her up from daycare from the sub. My husband said it was probably just because I didn’t know her or something.

Well my husband and I were taking her to daycare the next day and my cousin called and asked how my daughter was acting about daycare this morning and I’m like uh she’s acting just fine?? Well turns out one of the older kids saw the sub spank my daughter because she wouldn’t go to sleep at nap time. I was FURIOUS. My cousin immediately fired her. My daughter, without knowing about my cousin saying anything, told me exactly what the older kid had said.

Since then we have struggled with discipline. Every time she thinks she is in trouble she has a huge meltdown. She accidentally hit me with something and I said ouch! And she bawled. My husband was just playing with her (like always) and obviously jokingly said “I’m gonna spank you” and she started bawling and screaming. I honestly don’t know if it’s her being a little dramatic or if it’s like a trauma thing.

If any one has any suggestions on how to help her with any of this or what I can do please give any advice. She is 2 but will be 3 in a week. Any help is appreciated!

**I also get that some people probably don’t feel like someone spanking her would be the biggest problem but she didn’t know her, she got spanked because she wouldn’t sleep but she was laying down quietly just fine, and she’s a daycare worker it is illegal to put your hands on a child as a child care provider. Also she was alone with this girl for who knows how long before I could get there to pick her up after work that night she was the last child to be picked up so who knows what could have happened in that time.
