My roommates and I want a dog but are landlord said no even though previous tenants were allowed and another house she is the landlord of is allowed and has dogs. Although I’m dog sitting all of next week and I just asked the landlord permission (she knows the owners and dog) and I’m allowed to dog sit at my house..... so loophole sort of.

* UPDATE: My roommates and I are very happy to have a dog around for the week, we are sad we can’t have our own dog but at least we are allowed to have doggie sleepovers. We most definitely will not get a dog without permission but are still trying to be hopeful that our landlord will change her mind one day . She isn’t a dog person and a previous tenant and his dog caused lots of damage to the house but she said we could get a cat (which we don’t want) and has commented on how we do a much better job of taking care of the house than previous tenants.
