Dating after abusive marriage

Hello everyone. After 8 abusive marriage and 2 kids left him 4 months ago. I have met a guy 1 and half year ago. We were just talking on and off but there wasn’t any relationship between us. He knew my situation, after I got separated with my husband me and that guy started seeing each other not often but maybe we saw 8 times, he lives in a different city. On our 6th day seeing we had sex. He was strange from beginning didn’t text a lot, didn’t like questions( he was in military 9 years). And had excuse that he is busy with work and don’t like texting, he is so cold. When we were shopping in the mall my ex saw us together and started screaming and calling me names in front of everyone. But after that he didn’t stop we were still seeing each other, but he told me that my ex is crazy and he doesn’t want to go to jail because of him. So we had sex 2 times now. And after that he still was texting me but now he is disappeared not texting and not responding. My heart is broken I really like him can’t forget him. I just don’t know why he stopped. It’s because my past? What do u guys think? Do u think men are running away from women if they had abusive husband?
