Anyone else give birth at hospital wearing your own clothes and not the hospital gown?

I wore a hospital gown for my first and just a tank top for my second. The first was an induction so I went through the process (which included the gown), but second was natural labor and I didn't even realise what I was wearing until afterwards 😊

I had to wear their gown, but after birth I changed into my own!! 
Planning to do the same with my second!

My labor with my 2nd baby I ended up naked 😅 I tried to get the gown on during contractions, said “fuck this!”, and labored and gave birth fully nude and it was such a better experience than the first time with my own gown!

As an L&D nurse, we allow our patients to bring their own gowns.. no bras/underwear in case something happens. We just let the patient know that their gown is going to get dirty with blood, amniotic fluid, vernix, etc and to save their gown for after delivery. Of course its always up to them.

I’m on Australia and I wore a gown for one of my three when I got induced my first I was just wearing a night dress and my second just a top and bra I took my pants to give birth of course but they were never a good idea anyway haha don’t wear pants.

They made me change. I had been in a night dress because i was on bedrest at the hospital. They made me put on a gown for sanitation reasons.

I gave birth in a tub. With just my sports bra on. I don’t remember wearing a gown at all

I ended up nude...but that was a c-section. My sister wore a bra and then had a sheet over her. That’s it.
