Have you ever gotten a Amniocentesis? Is it really worth getting it?

My doctor gave a me a paper for a Amniocentesis because she said I should get it done since both my kids were delayed (one is still receiving therapy she’s almost 3 and on the spectrum) but I don’t think it’s necessary... As much as I’d like to know if my child is completely normal or not , I also don’t want to risk anything or be stressed about anything before the baby is born.

We decided since it wouldn’t change anything about the pregnancy we wouldn’t do it. We were going to have and keep the baby no matter what and would deal with anything after the fact.

No. Our doctor suggested it when our 20 week anatomy scan was showing markers for Down’s syndrome. We decided whether or not our daughter had Down syndrome it wouldn’t matter to us, so why bother getting the Amnio.
