Which IUD to choose?

I’m thinking of getting long term birth control for the first time ever and I’m thinking of getting the copper or low dose IUD. What have been your experiences mammas? Pro and cons? Which you think is best?

I’ve had both Mirena and Paraguard. I had Mirena for 7 years before I had it removed to try for my son (conceived him first try). It was great. I didn’t have a period for years. After he was born I decided I wanted something hormone free to let my body do it’s own thing naturally. I love both forms and have no complaints! But if you don’t want a period I’d get Mirena.

I have the copper iud and periods have been horrible I spot all month long and then have the worst periods I have ever had if it wasn’t for covid o would of had it removed already . Going in soon to have it taken out it’s the worst

My friend has to use the copper IUD but she's had no issues with it at all. I'm probably going to get it as well so that I don't have to worry about playing with hormones (it took me YEARS to find a birth control pill that agreed with me)

I had mirena for four years before I had it removed when we started trying to conceive our first. I had absolutely no problems at all. Wasn’t super pleasant to insert, but I never had any complications and I didn’t get my period the whole time I was on it. I got it out on a Friday, got my period on the Monday and had regular cycles after until we conceived. 
Eight weeks postpartum I had another mirena inserted and have had a similar experience. Still haven’t gotten a period (baby is 1 year, 2 weeks old). I’ve had some mild cramping the past few weeks and a tiny bit of spotting one day but that had been the extent of symptoms for me. I wasn’t sure how my body might react this time around after having been pregnant, but no issues! 
I realize not everyone has the same experience, but mine has been very positive!

I have a Liletta (like the Mirena) and adore it. I have had zero issues with it. A little spotting here and there, but no real period.
