Why do you like Trump?

This is out of curiosity...Why do people HONESTLY like Donald Trump? What makes him "great". What about Trump is likeable?

I’ve read from some of his supporters that they don’t necessarily like all of the comments he makes, but they like his policies. I’m sure some of his supporters don’t care about the policies and like him for his personality, or think he’s funny, or think he will personally advance them and their agenda, or any number of things. Some of them might be one issue voters, for the banned topic. I met a woman (American) who said she voted for him because he’s the most anti-vaccine and she disliked vaccines. I can’t verify his stance on vaccines but that was her main voting issue.

I agree with some posts on here about not being able to productively state why we support Trump because that usually leads to others posting paragraphs back to us which are sometimes pretty obscene (many times with inaccurate statements). So I’m not going to get into details because usually my posts on his specific successful policies get deleted. My husband and I support many of his policies. He has done a lot for Americans of all races. I do find him bombastic and irresponsible with his social media, but I’ll take how he leads and cares about this country over tweets.

I like Trump in general as a president. I don’t care for Twitter Trump. I will be voting for him. I don’t owe you or anybody an explanation of my vote.

This is interesting question...and we know good and well people “arent” allowed to like him. This day and age “unpopular” opinions are not welcomed.

Trump has spent his entire life selling himself as a success. If you listen to him, he keeps repeating the same things over and over and sells them as though they are the best thing ever.  He puts them into short sound bites that aren’t overly complicated and they tend to stick.  Lowest minority unemployment! Totally exonerated! Democratic witch hunt! Russia hoax! Best stock market ever!  and more recently he’s started a new one about regeneron – It’s a cure!
None of those things are true of course, but that doesn’t matter.  An authority has said it’s true, and anyone that points out that it’s false is dismissed, usually as either fake news or a liberal and sometimes as a Never-trumper. 
They like that he ignores all the government ‘rules’ and red tape.  It isn’t going to influence them that so many rank and file republicans are publicly denouncing him.  It won’t matter that Mattis, his own former Secretary of Defense, has said Trump is aiding and abetting Putin.  It won’t matter that McChrystal, a Republican who was fired for disparaging Biden during the Obama administration, has publicly supported Biden.  It won’t matter that half of Bush’s cabinet has denounced Trump and are supporting Biden either.  He claims he has successfully handled the pandemic, so the New England Journal of Medicine calling him out isn’t going to carry any weight. 
Because as much as they claim this is all about policies and successes, or that it’s about conservative ideals, it is actually isn’t at all.  Trump has sold them on a feeling.  A feeling that he transcends Republican and Democratic lines, and that he must be doing some good because why else would so many be trying to take him down? And because he’s sold them on fear, of Marxism and socialism, of crushing taxes, of immigrants ‘flooding’ across the southern border, of regular government officials that say normal politician things.
