Sudden loss of muscle function

☣X

I'm 21. The last 4 years, I've probably had maybe 7 bouts of this. It starts in my legs, and from the time I first notice it I've got maybe a minute to sit or lay down somewhere before I lose all muscle function, can't walk or move my arms or hands. It's always lasted no longer than maybe 30 minutes before I regain control and can slowly start moving again.

The last 2 days I've had 3 episodes, first one lasting 90 minutes, second one only 45, then the one yesterday lasted 4 hours. 4 hours I was unable to walk, lift my arms, and my facial muscles were so weak my speech sounded off. Of course, after having so many episodes so close together, we went to the ER.

They did blood, urine, oxygen, and a CT scan and found NOTHING. Blood sugar was normal too.

It's kind of like paralysis, except I'd describe it more like I'm so so weak that I literally can't move. I can't even wiggle my fingers during episodes. However, I can still feel if I'm being touched. I'm always conscious, and usually I can talk fine except my facial movement is limited and very weak so it's kind of like trying to talk through my teeth.

I am getting in touch with a neurologist for next steps, and my husband and I have arranged for me to switch to online schooling in case I have an episode at school and fall over.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any family members? Friends? One of my doctors I saw suggested anxiety attacks, but I'm literally the chillest, least stressed person I know. I've never experienced anxiety before and my life is going great with pretty much zero stress or anything. I refuse to even acknowledge that as a possibility.

If anyone has any advice or experience, I'd love to be able to go to my next appointments with some suggestions in mind.
