Late period = late ovulation?

Question

My period was late last cycle, does that mean I’ll ovulate late this cycle? It’s cd 17 for me and I’m not sure I’ve ovulated yet (but I didn’t track anything this cycle so that’s my own fault). I usually ovulate on cd 13 or 14.

Your Luteal phase is about the same length each month, give or take a day or two. If you ovulate later, then your period will most likely show up at a later date as well!

Just because you ovulated late once cycle doesn’t mean your following cycles will be late. Did you test last cycle that confirmed you did ovulate late?
