I'm wondering if there is just one main event of excruciating pain for a miscarriage?

I started bleeding a few days ago, and last night I had the most painful and nauseating contractions. I've never felt pain like that before. Thank God my husband found some old oxycodone in our medicine cabinet, because ibuprofen and naproxen were not enough. This morning I'm feeling better, probably because the oxy is still in my system.

My question is, was that it? Or should I expect another bout of that?
