How do you guys

Get your kids to listen 😆 As of right now I feel like I'm pretty strict and I'm not a big fan of this. I count down from 5 for him stop what he is doing or go put his toys away or else a punishment follows like timeout or the toy that is causing am issue gets taken away. But I feel like he only listens because he fears the consequence of the toy being taken away, not that he actually learns to misbehave to begin with?

Any advice on what works for you guys?
