They’re here!!

Samantha • 29❤️Mommy to 3!

I’m a little late to make the announcement, but my babies are 4 weeks today! Here’s our story!

First I want to say that my husband and I struggled with secondary infertility for a few years. Constant negative pregnancy tests are so disheartening when all you want to do is add to your family. We didn’t share with anyone what we were going through.

One day our (then almost) 5 year old daughter looked at me and said “Mommy, my baby sister and baby brother are growing in your belly.” I didn’t know how to respond. It had to just be here imagination. Except three days later I found out I was pregnant. Three weeks later we found out it was twins. Three months after, we found out it was a girl and a boy. She claims she just knows everything! I guess we couldn’t argue that lol.

Around 34 weeks, my blood pressure started going up and I was contracting on and off constantly. I didn’t test positive for preeclampsia any of the 5 times I was sent to triage over the next few weeks, but they weren’t finding answers for what was happening. I went to my last appointment at 37+5 weeks, and the doctor came in the room, checked my blood pressure for the third time that visit, and told me I was being induced that day. He didn’t want to wait any longer because the risks for us were going up.

We got to the hospital at 2pm on 9/16, started pitocin at 550pm, and impatiently waited. My contractions got worse, but since both babies were head down when we started, I was hoping for a natural birth. Around 2pm on 9/17, my water broke on its own and over the next couple hours the contractions got so much worse. I got an epidural not long after. Baby B had moved back to transverse at some point, but the doctors were prepared to do whatever we needed.

After 25 hours in labor, both babies were born vaginally! Sawyer Grace was born at 656pm and Aaron David was born at 722pm. Sawyer was strong and ready to go, Aaron just needed oxygen for a few minutes and was ready to join his sister!

My family is finally complete❤️
