I’m feeling bummed out today. I learned the microarray genetic testing that was being done on my placenta came back inconclusive due to fungal contamination. Has anyone ever had that happen? The genetic counselor is looking to see if they can get other tissues from pathology to extract another sample. Given all our bad luck, I’m just feeling it won’t happen. Next step is meeting with my maternal fetal specialist and genetic counselor next month. From there we can see what they could get and decide to do genetic testing in my husband and myself. I’ll be super upset if it comes down to no results from our Ava. I just want to know it was 100% something sporadic and therefore not caused by me.
