Any mommas dealing with constipated babies??

I’ve feel like this has just been a battle with my son ever since he started eating solids. My doctor just keeps saying “he needs to drink more water”🙄 he probably drink about 3 ounces a day 🤷‍♀️ I offer at meals and throughout the day, I’m not going to force water down his throat.. he eats prunes, pears, oatmeal, and it doesn’t help. I feel like maybe he’s eating TOO much fiber?? Is that even a thing? 
He was bloody red SCREAMING at the top of his lungs today for about 15 minutes while he slowly passed a poop the size of a golf ball.😭😭 We called the doctor and they said to try prune juice and Metamucil and see how that goes. 
Has anybody tried this? Or is going through this also?? This is breaking my heart

Yes, my poor baby has this problem too. She’s usually constipated for days at a time until she passes a hard poop 😕 Our doctor prescribed Lactulose to help with her constipation. We still give her yogurt/probiotics daily too.

Apple juice it always does the trick about 3-4 oz and get ready for a blowout.

My daughter went through that for a month! It was so terrible to see her screaming in pain and straining to try and go the bathroom! My doctor recommended all the same things as yours and I tried them all ( didn’t work ) but suggested I give her 1 tablespoon of miralax ( I only did 1/2 tablespoon) to her formula to soften things up. It helped a lot. She’s now back to pooping regularly without the miralax and regular soft stools instead of the rock hard poops like before

Yes! My baby has had such a hard time. I tried constipation ease, prunes, juice, pretty much everything. Her doctor told me to give her 1-2 tablespoons of MiraLAX a day. I put 1 tablespoon in her water in the morning and that’s it. It has helped SO much.

are you using fresh prunes or puree i have actual prunes that i cut in half or into quarters and give her those to eat. Mine drink maybe 5 ounces of water a day some days 8 ounces depends what cup its in really but still suffers with constipation or really strains herself

We were giving my daughter prunes and pears as well and they didn't help. Dr. said to try prune juice as it seems to work better. We give her 2 ounces with breakfast everyday and haven't had a problem with constipation or hard stools since. She was fine after the 2nd day. He did say that we could go up to 4oz if 2oz did not help.

Try giving more food that have high fibre. There are baby purées that have a high fibre content that might help.

Esther had a problem for a while. Yogurt would help but this stuff would do the trick if needed.
