Pain after c-section
Hey Mama's,
First I want to say that I love this app and community! Everyone is so kind and helpful. I'm a first time mom and learning so much from reading everyone's posts and responses (plus I love seeing all the pictures of all your beautiful babies!)
I had my son one month ago via emergency csection. I have 2 questions:
-I was planning on having a vaginal birth, went into the hospital to be induced at 40 weeks, and I had an epidural once labor pains were getting bad (the midwife shut off my epidural way too early and I ended up feeling everything). My midwife instructed me to begin pushing and I was pushing for about an hour and a half, but then the baby's heart rate was increasing and he wasn't coming down any further. Then the midwife said I wasn't fully dialated or effaced (I didn't realize that at the time when I was actually pushing, I thought I was). My question is, has anyone else been through something similar, where you were told to push before fully dialated?
-I was recovering well from the C-section and at my 2 week appointment with my Dr she said I was moving well and the incision looked great and had even given me the ok to resume driving. When I was discharged from the hospital they told me dissolving staples were usen internally (I had never heard of dissolving staples). About a week and a half ago I started to have a really bad, sharp, burning pain in one spot in my lower belly a few inches above the incision. Sometimes I'll be fine, but then the pain will start when I'm walking, or if I turn positions in bed, or if my belly slightly touches the cabinet when brushing my teeth or washing dishes, and I'm doubled over in pain. Has anyone had internal dissolving staples after a csection? Or anyone have a pain like this after a csection? I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and a high tolerance to pain meds (ibuprofen and acetaminophen do absolutely nothing for me, I even stopped taking them a few days after surgery because they didn't help). I thought maybe the pain could be a hernia? But there's no visible bulge, it's also not red, bruised, or warm to the touch. Anyone feel something similar? I called my doctor today have an appointment on Monday.
