22 month old not talking much

My boy is 22 months on Monday and only says around 10-15 words. A lot of babbling and expressions in his own “language” and understands a ton. He is my first baby and reading on google has me freaked out. We read to him nightly and encourage speaking constantly. I have noticed that I respond right away to any whine to guess what he needs, which I’m sure hasn’t helped. He’s on track with other milestones.

Anyone been in a similar situation in the past or currently? Should I be getting him evaluated now or wait until 2 year old appointment?
