I had an episiostomy?????

So l gave birth last year. It was a traumatic birth. Very painful. I was in labor 21 hours pushing for two.

I just mentioned to my husband how badly l tore while giving birth....he said "you know they cut you, right?" I said "what???". He's telling me they gave me an episiostomy and they did not ask permission or tell me they did that. I knew l ended up needing a lot of stitches but thought it was cause l tore. I'm beyond pissed. Sex still hurts a year later...no wonder. Lawsuit much??

EDIT for those of you saying thats completely normal. Never once was l told the babys heart rate was dipping, they were not concerned at how long my labor took. They never even told me afterwards that l had one, nor was it in my discharge papers. I am injured a year later from this. I still can barely have sex.Never would l have given permission to have an episiostomy unless the baby was at risk....which he was not.
