When did you start telling your LO no?

My 6 month old has two very sharp teeth and she bit me today and Drew blood. It doesn’t feel good. She’s been constantly trying to bite everyone. Do I start telling her no?? When did you start telling your baby no?

As soon as they do something they shouldn’t do. It doesn’t hurt them to teach them while they are little.

You can tell them no know and redirect their behavior.

My 6 month old kinda slaps his hands in my face sometimes hard and I just gently hold his hand and say “no hitting”, just in a nice tone. I mean I know he doesn’t understand it but it just comes naturally to say no and sometimes I even say “hitting isn’t nice”, it just comes out so I never really think about it.

At 6 months they begin to have receptive language, so now is a good time. Redirecting will be your most useful tool at this stage.

I started saying no at around 8-9 months in a nice way but it wouldn’t hurt to say no at 6 months even tho they don’t really understand but you can still say it in a silly tone or even try saying ouch everytime she does it!! (: Also, is she teething? I would try to give her a teething toy when she tries to bite someone lol.
