What covid laws do they have in your area/country??

Ok, sooo I am beyond annoyed at my government right now (I mean who doesn’t get annoyed at their government)...they have changed a covid regulation for women who are pregnant and I never would of found out if my friend didn’t tell me yesterday after her doctors appointment.
The law is that a woman must have 2 corona tests done 2 weeks apart prior to arriving at the labor/pregnancy ward otherwise they will be turned away. Now I am all about doing what we can to spread the virus and I wear my mask keep my distance etc.
However I am 2 weeks and 2 days away from popping out, maybe sooner as my bump has dropped and the pressure I’m feeling has been building in my hips and lower back. There is no way I am able to get the tests done in time and no one really knows much about the change in the law to be able to assist you in understanding what’s going on.
And after my lovely rant, does your place of residence have a specific corona law for pregnant women when they are due to give birth??

They can't really be turning away women who are about to give birth, can they? You can't expect people to know 4 weeks before delivering, and if one doesn't quarantine from the date of the first test until delivery, it isn't going to mean much.....

This sounds like a load of crao... People can't say oh im going to go on this date so I must get a test done here. A baby comes when a baby comes abd to turn you away from hospital would actually be a legal issue. Therefore you would have the right to claim against the hospital for medical negligence

I would call your hospital and double check. That doesn’t make sense as a policy. Maybe your friend got it a little wrong? Call the hospital and clarify. That’s the only way you’ll know exactly what’s up.

Update: So I spoke with the hospital, they stated that I do need one test to be done and they will be testing when I arrive. Also for “emergency” situations and if you couldn’t do a test they will be isolating until results come back.

I dont know about this new law but im 99.9% sure they cant turn you away if youre in labor

I work on a unit and when covid first started they were making people get tested 3 days before their surgery. If it happened to be a unexpected surgery they would swab them before the OR and do a rapid swab and isolate them until the swab came back negative. Things have since changed because we have like 1-2 active cases where I live. So they don’t swab pre op anymore unless you have two of the symptoms. If you have the symptoms they will rapid swab you but still take you to the OR then isolate until the test comes back. I’m guessing that’s what they would do in your case. If you come in ready to give birth they will take swab you and isolate until the test comes back which is usually. An hour or two.

This makes no sense babies come when they come. My hospital is having people with scheduled c sections and inductions get tested 2 days prior but if at any point you come in in labor before then they will do a rapid test in labor and delivery. That is it one test.

they cant refuse to deliver your baby. doctors take an oath, and it’s highly unlikely if you’re in labor they will turn you away, you will probably just have to wear a mask or get a rapid test. you could sue if they don’t deliver your baby i don’t think they would risk that. i can understand for schedules c sections getting tested before and self quarantining. if you are concerned reach out to your ob and see what’s the rules and regulations are. i would assume that since you are 2 weeks from due date they should’ve mentioned this already.

Where do you live that they are saying this? Have you talked to your own doctor or hospital? Sometimes people don’t understand what they’re hearing maybe she’s misunderstanding the situation.. because most hospitals can’t turn away a patient like that (Emergency situation and all) 
Most hospitals are just requiring a test upon arrival and then if it’s positive the mask rules are stricter and your staff exposure is minimal.
