How to get him to sleep?

Question

How/where is your one month sleeping? FTM and Ive tried the bassinet and he doesn’t like it. I’ve moved on to the swing but he only sleeps during the day in it, at night he struggles. He was born early so at a month he’s only 6lbs 11 oz eating every 2-3 hrs 2-3 oz at a time.

My 3 week old sleeps in her bouncer during the day (pram if we are out), and sleeps in her sleepy head in her co sleeping crib at night, I made it a priority to have her in a bed time routine from the day we got home from hospital. I take her in my room at 7:30 with only a lamp on, change her and get her ready for bed, feed her a bottle, then lay her down awake in her sleepy head with white noise on so she self settles to sleep (dont want her to associate milk or me with going to sleep). Now she falls asleep on her own by 8, I wake her to feed at 11 before I sleep, then she will wake around 4 for a feed then back to sleep till 8:30am. I've done this with all 3 of my kids and it's always worked with helping them sleep 😊. It does get easier dont worry, you're doing fab!❤. Our twins sleep in the SNOO. 😬 best. overpriced. baby item. EVER. 
But we used the military discount code & it saved us so much money. Definitely definitely definitely look in to investing in the SNOO! You can rent it, too! 
Our daughter never slept in her bassinet.....maybe for a month or so, then we ended up cosleeping & using the swing. It was so hard. Definitely start now on getting him to sleeping in a bassinet or even a crib. It just gets harder & harder to break the habit of sleeping in the swing or in your arms the longer you wait. But also once your baby is sleeping in their own bed you’ll want them to be sleeping in your arms again 😩 good luck, mama! Sorry I’m not much help since it took us over a year to get our daughter to finally fall asleep & stay asleep on her own! & by then she was really just ready to do it, only took a couple days to sleep train her.

I have mostly gotten baby used to the bassinet after learning some different swaddling techniques. He detested it the first week.

During the day my boy sleeps either on me, in a carrier, or in a bouncer. At night it’s a bassinet next to the bed. He generally still only goes 2-3 hour stretches at a time at 7 weeks but that’s what I expected after my first. Takes time to get used to it. We generally swaddle with halo sleep sack swaddles or swaddleme Velcro ones at night but I’m not sure if it helps or not.

My daughter has slept in the swing since we brought her home. We did maybe 5-6 random days in the bassinet but I find she sleeps better in the swing.

Have you tried swaddling him? My little dude sleeps way better swaddled. We also have a sound machine with white noise on at night.

Same boat here. My son is two weeks and literally hates his crib. Will only sleep in the swing or in my arms. I always try to put him into the pack and play to be in his back and sometimes that works. But.. not for too long. So hard when you’re so tired you just want them to sleep a little so you can sleep a little 😭

He sleeps in his bassinet at night but during the day when we’re awake he sleeps in his boppy, but that’s poor on us as we should be be moving him to his bassinet to keep him used to it but it’s so hard when all you want is sleep and he wakes up when put in the bassinet lol. Just gotta stick to it as much as it sucks!
