I believe it’s always required in pregnancy to rule out gestational diabetes

I’m on my third pregnancy.
I refused it this time.
I had such a hard time doing it before, repeatedly puking I just didn’t want to do it.
My midwife let me skip it since I don’t have any history of diabetes or big babies.
If it’s your first pregnancy I would suggest doing it.

It’s advised, but you don’t have to do it. 
With my first, I did it at 28 weeks and I did have Gestational Diabetes. So when I fell pregnant the second time, I had to have it at 7 weeks, 15 weeks & 28 weeks.

Its not routine where I am, and I didn’t meet the criteria to have one.. I went for my 35 week scan and my babies tummy was measuring big so they sent me for one and I had it! And my urine always came back fine. Why anyone would refuse it I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes it’s required. Obviously you can deny it but most providers will then drop you from their practice.
