My mom & dad, mostly my mom, have decided that they didn’t want to be part of this baby/pregnancy because they don’t like the name we picked out for our son. We’re naming him Keoni & they have straight up told me it’s an ugly name & it’s a “girl’s” name & he’s gonna get bullied for having a girl name. (Keoni is a male Hawaiian name for the name “John” to match the tradition in my bf’s family for the males to have the name “John” in their name).

They kept trying to push other “standard” names they want & when I told them we’re sticking w/ the name we chose for our son, my mom told me to “count them out”. I’m 31 years old & have no time for stupid foolishness from some supposed to be grown ass people & have no problem not including them in this pregnancy, but my boyfriend thinks we should still give them the opportunity to try to be in the baby’s life 🙄. It’s their first grandchild & they’re seriously upset because they don’t like the name we picked out.
