PCOS: poly cystic ovary syndrome
I recently was diagnosed with pcos. I’ve had it for a long time but it was masked by birth control. My doctor says that there’s no treatment and that I just need to take birth control to regulate it. She says that when I get pregnant, it will be difficult but that’s just how it is. I’ve done some research and found that since pcos is cases by an insulin resistance, a change in diet and exercise could help. The doctor was pessimistic and pushed birth control again. I’d like to make some lifestyle changes and stay off birth control so I can tell if my cycle starts to regulate but I feel scared and alone in this quest for better health and setting myself up for success for when I do want to get pregnant. Has anyone else been through this?
