Dimples 🤔

So I’m Haitian and my mother says/believes that in order for my child to have dimples, I would need to create them myself by continuously pushing in his cheeks as soon as he’s born or have my doctors do it. However, my husband has dimples already...🤔

What I’m trying to ask is, is my mother correct ? Like would I be harming my son if I did that? Or genetically, would my son get dimples from his father? I’m a first time mom and really don’t know. I don’t really care if my son has dimples or not, it would be cute if he did, but I could care less. I just would like to know your opinions on this because apparently in my culture, there are people who believe and practice this.
