Did I cross a line?

My fiancé kid came to me for help today. I'm a nurse practitioner so that's probably why. He told me he's having issues down there. He looked super embarrassed and asked if I could check. I did and I told him it looked like a yeast infection. He's about to be 17 and has a girlfriend so I'm gonna guess he's sexually active. I told my fiancé when he got home and he took him to urgent care. He did have a yeast infection. Maybe I'm over thinking this, but did I cross a line? If his mom's finds out I just feel she will be mad. I dont know why he asked me to look instead of her. My guess is it's because I'm a nurse practitioners, but I'm just wondering if I crossed a line.
