Why don't my in laws appreciate anything I cook?
I've made homemade sourdough bread, a 40 year old Southern family recipe, for 3 years. When my sister in law starts making sourdough they rave about it and want her to bring it to every family party. Btw my grandmother has won 96 first place ribbons and the women in my family are fantastic cooks. I am very proud and I want to share it.
Also, a 200 year old family tradition of making apple butter in an antique kettle stirred and cooked for hours, they don't even want to try it! It hurts tbh, I don't know if it's because they are all born and raised in the West and have never tasted food with the Southern influence but I find it strange that they act like my cooking heritage of my family doesn't exist.
Any Southern people experience this?
