Anyone else’s LO not sitting yet?

Question

Is anyone else’s LO not sitting or even tripod sitting yet? My LO is 25 weeks now and has no interest in sitting. I was hoping to start baby led weaning soon but at this rate we’re never going to get there😕
Every time we practice sitting he stiffens up and pushes back or he leans forward and puts his feet in his mouth. I’m starting to get a little discouraged.

Mine isn't. He turned 5 months on the 23rd. He just faceplants. My 3 y/o didn't sit until 7.5 months so I guess he will be the same. My 2 y/o was sitting completely independently for long periods of time by 5 months. Was kinda hoping little man would be the same!

Mine is 5.5 months, sitting but needs assistance. I usually put her piano in fromt on her so that she can use it as support without feeling like im forcing her to sit. She will play the piano and sit. Usually have my legs on her sides so she doesnt fall. She can nearly sit unassisted so maybe try that. An activity cube or similar will work too :)

Yes. My LO is 23 weeks and isn’t sitting yet either. He like to pull up and be on a sitting position, but his lower back is still very rounded, so that means he’s not ready. He does have low muscle tone though and we are starting PT soon. Some babies take a little longer to do things and some just need a little extra nudge. I would talk to your pediatrician about it. Trust your mom instincts.

My daughter didn’t sit until she was 8 months! Crawling very soon after and walking at 11 months. I didn’t worry about it at all!

My LO is 25 weeks too and isn’t sitting yet- not even tripod! I wouldn’t worry, sitting independently isn’t expected until 6-6.5 months. I’m hoping it will happen soon though because we also want to start BLW.

Everett is 25 weeks 4 days and not tripod sitting at all or attempting to. He also has not pulled into crawling position yet. He does roll both ways proficiently.

My son will be 6 months on Thursday (sorry I’m not a weeks kinda person I forget 😂) but he’s just starting to try. We work with him everyday. For the longest time he refused now he’s too the point where he will bend his knees to get better balance but definitely not sitting unassisted
