Daycare for 16mo

I’m a SAHM and we don’t need daycare but we’ve placed our little one in waitlists to start when he’s >18mo. One of the home daycares (12 kids) just offered us a spot to start when he’s 16mo in Jan.

I’m interested in letting him go for 3 days a week but worried about covid. Should I keep him at home until the situation improves (don’t know when.)

I’m drawn to letting him start because I’d like to sign up for a course that will start in Jan as well and would require me to attend classes 3 mornings a week for 5 months. I’m also pregnant and could do with a break since we have no help as our families and friends live half way across the world.

I’m conflicted though since the cases in SF Bay Area have been rising and this covid situation is so volatile. Well, the course I want to sign up for can wait and I just want to make the best decision for our family.
