What can you eat before a pregnancy glucoes test

What can be taken before glucose test ??

I was told to eat normal before it.  Just nothing once I take the liquid until the test.

Coming from someone who worked as a lab tech- The 1 hour glucose test you can eat normally. The 3 hour test needs to be fasting

I was told not to eat anything containing sugar. My doctor said that protein was okay, but I ended up just going super early and fasting.
