Feeling overwhelmed? How to start!

Question

I am 13 weeks today and after two losses I am ready to start preparing for this baby. Cloth diapering is something I’ve wanted to do forever!
When do you start your research? When do you start buying?

I started researching fairly early on & then decided & put them on my registry (around 25 weeks ish?) 
Pinterest was my bff, but there is SO much info! For me, the 1st step is choosing a style: all in one, all in two, pocket, etc. then you can choose a brand & material(s). Don’t forget about accessories like a diaper sprayer & a good system for diaper change/cleaning.

I watched some youtube videos on the differences between covers, all in ones and pocket diapers. We decided on pocket diapers because of ease of use, reuse and preparation. We had them on our registry so didnt buy squat. And I requested a local diaper service for the first month so we weren't stressing as much with a newborn.
Things I learned post birth:
- none of the adjustable diaper covers or pocket diapers fit our newborns bum. He is now 11 lbs (2mo) and in newborn covers but the adjustable pocket diapers still dont fit.
- we used disposables at night during the newborn size because we were too tired at night
- all the inserts that came with pocket diapers are too big and we are currently using small prefolds in a "newspaper fold"
- get diapers with a double gusset

I don't remember when I started doing research, but definitely early. I bought most of my diapers second hand, so start looking for deals! There are some good BST groups on facebook, or just Facebook marketplace
