Is it ‘gross’ to buy Christmas gifts at a thrift store?

I’ve recently gotten into thrift shopping and have been finding some really great items. I even found things for other people which I thought would make good Christmas gifts. They aren’t dirty or anything, all good condition almost like new. I don’t see any harm in it. I mentioned it to a friend of mine; she said it was gross giving people secondhand things for Christmas and if it were a gift for her, she’d throw it out.
