I’m getting an iud tomorrow and I feel like this is an odd thing to think about but, my doctor asked for me to come on my period but should I come prepared with a pad or anything? Like I’m sure there will be bleeding regardless and they’ll be used to it but I can’t help feeling slightly weird about it.

Wear a pad to the appointment. You can't use tampons after insertion so just be prepared with pads to deal with the blood. They won't care.

I wasn’t on my period when I got it but they gave me a panty liner for spotting.

They will give you big pads to wear after too. When your on your period you cervix opens a little to let blood out, so insertion while your on your period will be slightly less painful and easier.
