Trying to induce: 41 weeks
I’m having a hard time getting my doctors office to call me back to schedule my induction. I’m 41 weeks today. My doctor had previously told me multiple times she could induce me after 41 weeks. When I saw her on Monday this week, she said all induction appointments had already been filled for the week! I was frustrated because she never told me that was a possibility and I’m a first time mom so I didn’t know to ask to schedule it earlier. I’m thoroughly uncomfortable delivering any later due to increase chance of still birth and fetal distress and do not want to make it to 42 weeks. Additionally, they told me over a month ago that my baby was going to be very large and predicted it would be born at 9-10 pounds! I feel each day without going into labor is putting me at undue risk for cesarean or putting the baby in distress.
Any positive messages others who have been through this can give or words of wisdom to cope with going past due date (I didn’t realize how emotionally taxing it would be)?
