Too overweight? TTC

Question

Has anybody over 250lbs gotten pregnant here and had a safe/normal pregnancy? 
Also I’m NOT trying or meaning to sound rude,I myself am overweight (230lbs) and I’m TTC but I’m afraid I’m too overweight

I am overweight (way more than 250) and was when I got pregnant with my daughter. I’m not going to say that being overweight is ideal, I think we all know that it’s not long term. Blahblahblah, you get it.
I will say that my pregnancy was completely healthy and normal for the most of it. Baby was born 11/22/2020 and weighed 7lb 4 oz. she’s beautiful and healthy. I was induced at 39 weeks, 4 days because I developed what they think was hypertension in the last few weeks and baby was developed and far along enough that they just decided to evict her. My induction failed, after 4 days. I didn’t dilate past 1.5 and baby wasn’t responding well to the induction (this had NOTHING to do with weight) So I had a c-section. I’m still only 2-ish weeks postpartum but have so far (knock on wood) healed beautifully despite my weight and “mom apron” as it seems to be called. 
Again, I am 100% not trying to glorify obese pregnancies. I know I’m lucky I never got gestational diabetes etc. I do personally plan on losing weight before baby #2. However, it’s not impossible to carry a perfectly healthy pregnancy while being overweight. Find a good doctor who doesn’t body shame, and do what makes you happy. ❤️

Sorry to say, but the safe/normal would likely be more uncommon as you’re bound to have certain conditions and higher risk once you’re over a 30 BMI. If you’re still in the ttc phase, I would urge you to lose weight first, it’s better for you and the baby. Try keto if you haven’t already, it doesn’t feel like a diet and you can make a ton of delicious foods, including desserts and still lose weight. Hubby and I both did it earlier this year and now that I’m pregnant are doing more “low carb” vs keto but I was actually diagnosed with infertility a few years back and swear the keto is what did the trick. My obgyn confirmed she’s had others with similar stories. Good luck!

I was 225 when fell pregnant but took me two years and 24pound lighter to fall pregnant, however me and my husband have fertility issues so that was probably why took so long. My pregnancy is amazing so far I'm 28+4 and baby is growing perfectly on track, no GD, no back ache (yet) and I'm carrying on work as normal. So everyone is different and pregnancy affects people in different ways.

I was 284 when I got pregnant with my current baby, I weigh 305 now. With my last I believe I was 245. Never had any problems trying to conceive doctor just recommends that I gain 15 pounds this pregnancy. Currently 9 months due the 28th

Whilst it is never a bad idea to try and lose weight if you know you’re carrying extra, it’s also not always going to effect you TTCing. There are plenty of slim and overweight women who have trouble getting pregnant for other reasons, and plenty of larger ladies who have no issue whatsoever!
I’m overweight myself (not quite 250lb bracket but no lightweight either!) and my pregnancy has been fine so far! My medical team wanted me to watch my weight as the pregnancy progressed but I have only gained about 5kg since I started and I am almost 30 weeks.
Don’t be hard on yourself-if you can make healthier food choices and move a bit more, then do and you’ll feel better anyway! But don’t stress it.

Personally I think losing weight would be a great idea and better for you. I’ve never been overweight but my sister was ( she started a program and lost a ton of weight after struggling to lose it her whole life😁) when she got pregnant and it was really hard on her. I won’t go into everything but it definitely made her pregnancy more complicated especially at birth because her baby was huge, almost 10 lbs! We both actually had GD but my baby did not come out that big. 
So just based off of my sister/ what she struggled with and expressed to me I think it would be a great idea to get your body in-shape and eating healthy before getting pregnant!
