Do you consider listening to an audiobook as reading a book?

Obviously, it isn’t physically “reading” a book. But, for example, if someone asks you what book you read last would you consider a book you listened to when responding?

Listening to an audio book is being read to, not reading. I’d consider it the last book I listened to, but not the last book I read.

Depends on the context. If you and your friends are talking about books you've read recently, you can include an audio book you listened too. Just because you received it in a different platform, doesn't mean you didn't actually go through the book. I myself don't do audio books because I read faster than that and can get through books faster. Plus I like my imagination reading it. But that's just a side note.

Yes! I know lots of people that listened to audiobooks while commuting precovid. So you can still discuss what happened in a book someone read, that’s the same.

It’s not reading but if you paid attention you’d be able to discuss it with someone who asked you about it so I said yes. I mean you can always clarify that you listened to the audiobook if you want.
